Novidades do Ferromodelismo Brasileiro/Brazilian Model Railroad News!

Text in English below this.

Frateschi, a Brazilian manufacturer of model railroad rolling-stock and kits, and Zas Tras toy store network firmed contract of distribution of the start set which is named "Meu Primeiro Trem Elétrico" (My First Electric Train) which consists of tracks to assembly a little oval circuit, a bi-volt controller, a locomotive and 3 rail cars or 4 (EFVM ore train set). With such partnership, Frateschi can bring its products to public even farther in the large Brazilian land, this persuasion makes its brand present at the stores of toys that are growing in numbers in Brazil, and this "engraves" the image that small trains can be toys or hobby material for the joy of the kids as well as the whole family in a more sophisticated, smart way but not just focusing in just one class of consumers, but all of them.

It is important to highlight the new events of model railroading in Brazil are coming outin larger number year after year, this is another signal that represents the real growth of this hobby nationwide.
The privatization of railroads called the attention of many people that like trains, but didn't express much interest in them because the former state-owned railroads ever had the same look. With the advent of the private companies, the railroads are receiving refurbished rolling-stocks such as locomotives and freight cars, new passenger trains for metropolitan areas, brand new locomotives and freight cars, and some passenger trains are coming back to the rails with new, colorful liveries. The more beauty from organization, renovation is in some place like a railroad, the more interest will be in such novelty that surrounds the neighborhoods. The reproduction of the renewed and new trains that are became common in the main cities of Brazil in HO scale by Frateschi, causes passion on the ones that love trains and the whole world of railroads as the on ones that want to experiment the taste of challenging their skills to create mini scenarios on train layouts with full functionality of a real scale-sized railroad. The inaugural of new shopping malls in the countryside also boost the sales of Frateschi gradually.

Even though the hobby lost its fame after the years 70-80, the improvement on the local economy in reaction to long-term federal government mismanagement that still perdures, the largest companies of Brazil looked for new ways to export: new markets, new products, new production ways, so these actions led more financial gains to the Brazilian economy, and now this is surging effect on market of toys and hobby products.

Another important fact is the growth of number of events dedicated to the hobby of model railroading. In the past the most famous events happened in São Paulo by ABF (Brazilian Association of Model Railroading), Belo Horizonte by the AMF, in Rio de Janeiro by the local associations, and the annual event of Frateschi. Now we have events in Bauru, Jundiaí, and in the historical town of Paranapiacaba.

Last but not least, the growth in the Brazilian economy encouraged the building companies to build new shopping malls in the main cities of Brazil thus making to surge new toy and hobby stores.
